A Reason to Cheer for Colorado in NBA, ABA, and NCAA Basketball

Because basketball is on everyone’s minds due to March Madness, we thought that introducing you to our Colorado basketball teams would be a great topic for our blog.

NBA: The Denver Nuggets
Colorado has a professional basketball team in the NBA called the Colorado Nuggets. It was initially formed in 1967 and played in the ABA under the name of Rockets, and it became an NBA team in 1976 (it changed name to Nuggets a few years before that). If you’re looking to go see a live NBA game, the Nuggets play at the Pepsi Center in downtown Denver, which will offer all the excitement and adrenaline of the NBA!  ABA: The Colorado Kings
If semi-professional sports are your thing, Colorado has it’s own ABA basketball team based out of Denver called the Colorado Kings! Since it’s inception in 2010, the franchise has 124 wins and only 12 losses! Now that’s a pretty great record—so for some almost guaranteed wins, go watch a game!

NCAA College Basketball

We do have a number of college basketball teams in NCAA’s Division I here in Colorado—including the Air Force Falcons from the United States Air Force Academy for Colorado Springs; the Colorado Buffaloes from University of Colorado Boulder; the Colorado State Rams from Colorado State University; the Denver Pioneers of University of Denver; and the Northern Colorado Bears from University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. And that’s not even going into the other NCAA Divisions.

As you can tell, basketball is thriving here in the Centennial State. We hope you make it to a game to support our local teams soon!
